Yes, NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is mandatory for admission to MBBS courses in all medical colleges in India, including government, private, deemed universities, and AIIMS & JIPMER institutions as per the Supreme Court ruling.
Government medical colleges typically charge between ₹20,000 to ₹1 lakh per year for MBBS, while private medical colleges may charge anywhere from ₹5 lakhs to ₹25 lakhs per year depending on the reputation and location of the institution.
There is no restriction on the number of attempts for NEET. Candidates can appear for NEET as many times as they wish, provided they meet the age and eligibility criteria each time.
